Art cannot be defined in words. It involves creativity and imagination. It represents the world as we see through our senses to evoke our emotions and responses to that world.

The same may be said about the art of Shohela, born at Dhaka in Bangladesh. After schooling, she did her B.F.A. from Dhaka University. She also got her master degree in sculpture from Rabindra Bharti University, Kolkata. There, she was attracted towards canvas and colour. She was fascinated by soft and cool colour, which inspired her to paint human figures with tender lines and colour. Her human figures are simple and suggestive.

She has also done landscape with human figures, which are not going with tradition of old conception; it gives pleasure when we look at her paintings.

Her admirable work is heads of Buddha where she has her own technique called “cracked”. In these paintings, she has seen Buddha in a contemplating mood. The lines are mild and give spiritual height to the face of Buddha.

For her creatives she got many prices, awards and also ICCR scholarship for furthers' research in the field of paintings.
